TEMAR JOHN

CEO OF JUNUBIA

The South Sudanese Australian resident is a human’s rights activist and founder of South Sudanese Women Empowerment INC (a non-profit organisation based in Victoria, Australia). Titmar is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communication (Journalism).

She is a former volunteer radio host, graduate of Diploma of Writing and Editing and a former freelance writer at a state government youth led website “Youth Central”. Her passion and devotion for community development led to many recognition awards by community leaders in Melbourne, Australia.

TitMar envisions Junubia as an organisation that will empower women and the youth in the diaspora. As well as make a positive impact on the lives of South Sudanese by actively engaging with the mentioned groups and ensuring Junubia is one of many online and on the ground platforms for all South Sudanese to discuss and debate on cultural challenges, generational differences, shed light on success stories and much more.

At Junubia, we will endeavour to emphasise the message of unity among all tribes of South Sudan and particularly among the young people. As the future belongs to the youth, TitMar believes if we want a united South Sudan, unity must be at the forefront of discussions of national issues.
